way to go laevisx! what do you use to get them though? morpheus? kazaa? or just by simple browsing? morpheus and kazaa tend to have slow connections now... btw, does anyone happen to watch rurouni kenshin? ;D if so, do you know where i can find subtitled episodes of it (that actually download)?

Mirc ... usually is the way to go to get anime series, if you don't mind waiting in line though and your computer can never be off ever again !

I've seen a few animes and I have this to say:
The following Anime Rock: Neon Genesis: Evangelion (the vivo files are shit, its well worth the higher quality downloads even on slower connections) Serial Experiments: Lain Akira (obvious classic)
And lastly I'm watching Dragonball now to see what all the hype is about. It looks pretty funny so far but I do prefer the darker more series stuff.

Oh and for getting anime. I like newsgroups, Kazaa, and CD-borrowing (its a new technique you may not have heard of it; it requires Social Interaction Protocols V1.0 and generous friends)

getting stuff off of newsgroups requires a binary newsreader but can be tricky at times. If you have Rogers its been really bad since the brutal demise of @home so its not really worth it anymore. But back when it was @home I would download stuff at a constant speed of the maximum bandwidth my modem could handle. Usually 2000kbps+

Whee. Lots of Anime fans ;D If I understood how to use mIRC a little more (not to mention having either a larger HD or a burner), that is all I would use to get all the movies, series, OAV/OVA. In the meantime, DirectConnect has been pretty good for me as well (kinda acts like mIRC, but easier to use). Anywho, movies to watch : Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Laputa: Castle in the Sky My Neighbor Totoro Princess Mononoke (can you tell I'm a huge Studio Ghibli fan? ;D) Grave of the Fireflies (If you watch any anime, watch this without hesitation. A complete masterpiece) Kiki's Delivery Service Metropolis (Another to watch whenever possible) Jin Roh (fairly good) Granted, many of the ones listed are quite old, but they all have a certain magic to them that just cannot age. Also, I don't think there is any need for me to list some of my favourites series (aside from Trigun which hasn't been listed) since many of the ones listed by the previous posters are SUPERB. Either ways, learning to use mIRC (or having access to good FTPs), having anime fan friends who know to use mIRC (so use SIV), having a large wallet , or use file sharing programs help a long way. P.S. Could someone tell me about Anime North? edit: I read up on the link below. Damn its far. Really far. Also, I'm scared of any Cosplay that may occur (seen pics from these conventions that have forever scarred me) But mainly very far. If anything, CNAnime might be a better idea (even if its late in teh summer) or save up and go to E3 next year (or this year if youre a VG staffer).
