Ok, I have no idea on how to even approach the map method So when you give a title, its suppose to get the corresponding URL. Then LinkIterator is suppose to go "inside" that URL and get all the other URL's from there? It keeps doing it until there are no more links then prints out the output in the given fileName. Any directions on how to do this ? It seems sooo overwhelming!!

offtopic comment: this forum is way more helpful than the newsgroup. the newsgroup is so unorganized and u can't find anything! yea, but i like how paul gries actually responds on the newsgroup. more people should post here though, and i think people are too tense about plagairism. sidenote: how the hell do you post on a newsgroup i have never used one before.

btw...shouldn't The Rock's output be indented... i mean...after first line (project/) shouldn't everything under it should be indented at least once since they're all under project/...and for sub1/sub2/s1.html...i indented it 3 times....since it's 3 level away from the title url...what do other ppl do for indentation?...i tried many different ways...but don't know which one is reasonable to use...

Behold, and drool at my output! Which won't fit without a lot of editting and I don't feel like it... *cough* It's pretty much the same as The Rock's save it's indented and I have a '*' to signal where the url would be plain text. Odds are that this is gonna crash when they test it but I don't care anymore. I'm just gonna comment the hell outta everything and focus on the testing. Good night, people! I've been up for 17 hours and I'm having an intimate conversation with my mouse.

i went to the prof today, and he said we can make a method to check if that link is a dead link.. if it is then print in plain text.. (i imagine storing the deadlinks somewhere..then checks from that?) i might be way off...but up till now i think this seems like a reasonable method?

for test.html...if u look carefully...that tag in the source file of s2.html...there is no space between <a and href (only tab in between)...so as a result of some ppl's link iterator who is looking for " href"...they might not get test.html...that's what i think... but for a2...i think the some ta or prof mentioned that there will always be a space before href...i am not sure about our project tho(if some one know the answewr to this...plz post it)...but since so many website are doing their page that "tab" way...i think i would look for "href" instead... it shouldn't be the URL class's handling problem...cuz my program handle ../../ automatically without doing any extra work...

but i just hate adam foster...he give out more blaming than answering...if he can talk about other stuff for pages...why can't he answer the question directly?
One thing you got to understand is that you can't read somebody's tone online. Second, what Adam is trying to do is to lead you to the answer instead of just spitting it out, which is a lot more helpful. Plus, he doesn't have to respond to the newsgroup. The profs don't have to either. I don't know why you're complaining. He seems nice to me.
they're all under project/...and for sub1/sub2/s1.html...i indented it 3 times....since it's 3 level away from the title url...
That's right.

Ok, I don't understand ... When I create a bufferedreader with an openstream() and send it to my linkiterator, something screws up! But it works fine when I send in a normal bufferedreader.
Am I suppose to send the bufferedreader with an openstream() to my linkiterator? Thx
