I've heard of it, but I'm not much of a PC gamer. I prefer console games. The only Ragnarok I know is in Final Fantasy. Buf if you guys can suggest a cool online RPG (not pen-and-paper) for a first-time PC gamer that would be great. Something where there isn't a monthly fee.

You should all consider yourselves lucky that RO has gone down for a little over a week if you haven't played the game. I too have been pretty much a console gamer until recently. However, Ragnarok has the feel of a console game. It is FUN. Addictive (its not pen-and-paper, btw). Easy to play. Will screw you over if you have/had any assignments due (ie the Project). Once our vacation starts, JOIN in. We can form small parties, and get addicted. Damn I wish I could go to e3. Would volunteer at their booth ;D

RO is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG for short) Think of it as a Secret of Mana (from SNES days OR Legend of Mana for your PSXers OR a little battle restricted Zelda) in an Online world. Where you have different classes to choose from. Form hunting parties with people you meet (or make a UoT party =). Currently the game is in beta testing for the world to try help them fix up bugs and whatnot (though its usually pretty stable) But either ways, if you even remotely like Secret/Legend of Mana, you'll LOVE RO. Which is why I'm hooked on it. Just check out their main site www.ragnarokonline.com for some pics of the game. Or better yet, check it out AFTER your exams are over. Don't want anyone hooked on this game because of me. PS - For anyone registered (or later registers) in the Chaos Server, look for 'Ashok' and I'll try to help you to the best of my ability (if I'm in)

Sounds like fun, I read an article on it on gamespot a couple of weeks ago. I think I'll try and get into after the exams. I've currently got too much stuff to play on my consoles. A friend also recommended Jedi Knight II on the PC. I'm also more of a console gamer so this should prove interesting.
After last Friday was over, I felt so tired out from school related work that I really just felt like relaxing. I haven't done as much work as I thought I would have so far (ie. very little).

Oh, why didn't you tell me before it wasn't a pen-and-paper RPG, Ashok? After that faggy bridge game you liked I just assumed you were into P&P RPGs. Alright, I'll give Ragnarok a shot, but only after the exams. I'm not gonna mess up my exams like how you messed up your A4.

Pen and Paper RPGs? I dunno. Don't think I've played one before. Don't think it would really appeal to me either from what I've heard of it. Then again, I like pretty much any type of game (case in point: the "faggy" bridge sim [hey, it looked crappy, but it was simple had an excellent physics engine, and was addictive in that small game type of way]). Anyone know of a P&P rpg? I'll give it a shot.
PS - Thanks for bringing A4 up. I can cry like I did when I saw that condom joke [with your response] in my room and remember to study properly now.

No, you don't want to play it. It's so retarded. Here's an example:
*Click "turn left" button*
Message: "An ogre has appeared."
Ok, great. You have a couple of options: battle or run. Wow. Dude.
*Click "battle"*
Message: "You are no match for the ogre; you die and lose all your weapons."
How fun. If you're lucky, you get a few pictures. Other than that it's just click-click-click-click-go crazy.

Ah, I see. Basically like some MUDs or (to some extent) the Myst sagas. Now that I remember trying them, it wasn't a pleasant time "playing" that game. I tried to like them, but just not my style whatsoever. I'd rather play a game you don't need to play (like Progress Quest) than play them. Don't flame me if any of you happen to like P&P stuff ;D BTW, nice to see other console fans as well
