I think our demand for a less-vague and/or ambiguous handout just backfired guys. ;D

I just finished reading the first page and skimming through the rest. It looks really hard. It's great we have til the 30th, but nonetheless, I agree about it being intimidating.

just think of how much fun this would be when it finally works at the end!! we'll all be "testing" it over and over again just playing cuz it's so cool how we can randomly hide those bones and find them. i dunno...i love BattleShip. maybe that's why. ;D

I dunno, considering we'd hafta show where those bones are after every coordinate read in it'd kinda ruin the fun. But this is why we're in CS right?

But this is why we're in CS right? well, after we submit it, i'm sure we know how to take that part of the code out so that we can play or let other ppl play without seeing where the bones are hidden. that would be fun!

does anyone know how to make our program self-executable so that we can distribute our game w/o having to distribute the whole codewarrior or jdk?

sounds like a good idea, and you'd need a compiler for that... but... I wonder if you can save the game as a java applet and run it on a browser...

This program looks very familiar... if it is battleship, then I've done it before on turing on my final exam back in high school... it was one of the 4 programs we had to write. 1) make the game battleship 2) make minesweeper 3) make a linked list that accepts 2 pieces of data and allows user to sort using whichever data he chooses. 4) write a program using objects, that simulates 3 people talking to each other.
and to think that this is grade 12 stuff... we were supposed to finish it in 2 hours, but the class ended up staying from 12:00pm till 6:00 pm and STILL no one finished the exam.
This should be a breeze... you all need to lighten up! my friend is doing minesweeper for a tutorial prep!!
anyways, ill be posting up stuff later tonight if i get started, unlikely, since I just got metal gear solid 2...

in my high school, we had to write a battleship game in grade 11 comp. sci. course too . so i don't think this assignment is that bad....... considering that we are just using gr 11-12's comp. sci. knowledges.... but i DO agree that we have to start at this early..........
