Enumeration and Iterator

what are Enumeration and Iterator? what do they do, and how do you use them?

It must be impossible for any other class to find out the type of the list instance variable in URLList. For example, you must not return the List instance variable from any method. You may, however, return an Enumeration or an Iterator from URLList.

yeah can anyone clarify?., .,, i have no idea how to do this,.,. actually i don't even know wut they're talking about..,.,

i get it now ;D (i think):
for example, the vector class has a method elements() that returns an enumeration. an enumeration, i think, is just a list with all the elements, but u don't don't whether it is a vector list or an array... so then u can use enumeration's methods to do stuff to the elements/objects inside it. (i think.. i haven't tried it out, becuz i don't have an ide right now.)

(but now that doesn't seem to make sense anymore, because then enumeration goes w/ vectors, i think, and iterator goes w/ array, so then u would know what kind it is! )

Ok but what do I use for and ArrayList?

actually...u can use the elementAt() method in the Vector class to return an object in the URLList to the A1Driver
that way u can avoid using Enumeration which we are not very familiar with

care to expand on that? i think the commands are ez, its the moving info into vectors shitz thats messing me up.
