I know Gries said up to slide 139 and LL, but how in depth should we go? The slides are all mumbo-jumbo talk. There's a lot of "explanation" (ie. why and how we should comment, the importance of interfaces, the differences btwn stacks and queues, etc) but I feel as if there isn't a lot of concrete examples on actual CODING. I learn more in my tutorial class and assigments than sitting in the lectures. Will this midterm be more based on coding or on comprehension of the slides? Other than reading thru those slides, I really don't know what else to study for What are u guys doing?

study from past exams, even though they have different material..? well, know how to do the stuff on those exams that we talked about, like exceptions, interfaces, etc.

Yikes, I'm really not feeling confident about this midterm material. Have u looked at the old exams? It doesn't seem too too bad. Has anyone done that online hwk from the site? I wonder if thats gonna be on ...

the old exams seem to cover things i didn't learn... in my section, we don't have to know the online hwk material. also, we kinda have to memorize the api or something, cuz we can't have it at the exam!

One thing to make sure is to not waste too much time on one question.. Do what you know first... and then go to the harder questions... what really killed me on my mid-terms was that I spent too much time trying to figure out something and didn't work on the rest of the exam.. you only have 50 minutes.. and they make it (yes they are evil) so that if you know your stuff... then you can finish it on time...
Best thing to do is make sure you undestand all the concepts and how to program them even without the book... Commenting on exams aren't that important.. but if it helps the marker to know your pseudocode or what you are doing.. put it in...
